Notification to Customer regarding remittance to India.
We would like to bring to your kind notice the following changes in Banking Operations in India starting from September 2015.
“ As per the notification dated 20.08.2015 issued by Ministry of Finance, Government of India, Second Saturday and Fourth Saturday of every Month shall be Banking Holiday. All other Saturdays shall be Full Banking Days.” These changes shall be effective from September 2015.
Kindly note that all Banks in Bhutan including our Bank operate for Half-Day on all Saturdays. However, since Banks in India shall be closed and RTGS/NEFT operations in India shall also be closed on Second and Fourth Saturdays beginning from this month (from 12th September 2015), we shall not be able to execute INR Remittances to India on those dates. In such cases, we shall accept Remittance Request on Such Saturdays but shall execute the same on next working Day, subject to submission of necessary documents by our customer.
However, in cases where beneficiary in India is maintaining his/her Bank Account with Punjab National Bank, India, our Bank shall be in a position to remit funds in a limited manner on all working Saturdays in Bhutan.
For the convenience of all our customers in Thimphu, we may also inform that Banks in Thimphu shall remain closed on 19th September 2015 and from 22nd September 2015 to 25th September 2015 due to Bank Holidays already published. On 26th September 2015, Banks in India shall remain closed on 12th September 2015 and 26th September 2015. As such, on all forthcoming Saturdays in September 2015, INR Remittances are not possible. During 4th Week of September 2015, INR Remittance to India is possible only on 21st September 2015.
